Gals, I’m so excited – it’s only two sleeps until the Black Friday Sales! I’ve been making my shopping shortlist for weeks now… and let me tell you, it isn’t so short anymore! There are so many cute things to shop for and today, I’m delighted to be collaborating with Sears to share some of my favorite picks and tips for what to shop on Black Friday.
As many of you know, I like to keep my style quite classic and polished, but I always look for pieces with unique details. I feel in sales sometimes you can get swept up in all the excitement of big discounts and end up buying a ton of things that you never wear. When I was in my teens (umm yes, that was almost ten years ago – eeek!), I used to fall victim to buying something because it was “such a great deal!”, have you ever done that?! But I’m pleased to say, since then I have become a discerning shopper. I know what suits my body type, what colors are flattering for me and what styles will endure more than one season.
My best fashion advice for shopping the Black Friday sales is to choose pieces that are classic and timeless. Buy quality over quantity and shop for what your wardrobe actually needs (believe it or not, you don’t need that 10th black handbag).
I had a wonderful time browsing Sears recently and bought this tuxedo jacket, these coated skinny jeans and this ruffle blouse… all for under $80! Each item is versatile in its own right and so easy to mix and match with other pieces in my closet, but I thought they also worked so well together in this outfit. I absolutely love it!
I have to tell you, it had been a while since I’d bought something from Sears and when the parcel arrived, I couldn’t have been more thrilled! I was truly impressed with the quality, the cut and the fabric… as were my mom and sister (they’ve already put in multiple requests to borrow the jacket and jeans).
This jacket is fully lined and would honestly have to be one of the best fitting jackets I’ve owned in a long time. I adore everything about it, it feels better than some jackets I own that are a couple hundred dollars… and this one was under $30! Oh and don’t even get me started on these jeans, I’m all about anything oxblood right now, isn’t it such a perfect color for winter?
I’ve got to say, my experience shopping with Sears was refreshing. It showed me that I actually didn’t have to spend a lot of money for great quality (I’ve even been back on their site since then to order more things… the Metaphor collection is one of my favorites, the pieces are on-trend, but timeless and very well made).
So when you hit the sales on Black Friday, go in with your fashion wish list and look for well-tailored pieces that are great quality. Stick to the colors and cuts that you know suit best and avoid the highly seasonal trend pieces, be sure to hunt down chic items with a classic style! Happy shopping!
