Welcome to Style Sessions! Today I am so excited to share with you one of my favorite new wardrobe additions; a fabulous cobalt blue maxi dress from Dress Up Boutique! As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it… I adore the way it can be dressed up or down. I styled the dress with a denim jacket for a perfectly polished day look and mixed in fabulous drop earrings for a touch of glam!

In celebration of finding this great boutique, I wanted to share their fab fashion with you – so all Style Elixir readers will receive 25% discount on your entire purchase! Just use code STYLELIXIR (until November 1, 2013). Plus, one lucky reader will win a $100 store credit, enter below!

The Perfect Maxi Dress

I’m sure it will come as no surprise when I tell you, one of my favorite colors is cobalt! It truly is the most spectacular hue, so you can only imagine my excitement when I found the perfect maxi dress… cobalt blue, tiered ruffles and a sheer skirt that’s so on trend right now. Oh and did I mention it was only $42? Ah-mazing! I recently discovered Dress Up Boutique and as a fan of gorgeous style, while still living within a budget, I was hooked!

I wanted to share their fab fashion with you, so Style Elixir readers will receive 25% discount on your entire purchase! Simply use the code STYLELIXIR at checkout (it’s valid until November 1, 2013). They add new styles every week (ok, it’s more like every.single.day – yay!) and the collection is huge. If you follow me on Instagram, you will probably have seen these earrings – I am in love (and they were only $12!).

Meet Our Head Stylist…

I am excited to introduce you to this week’s Head Stylist, Jalynn from The Red Closet Diary! When I saw this look of Jalynn’s last week,  I fell in love!  It’s perfection from head to toe (how fab is the studded handbag – and it’s less than $30!).

What is your go-to look? My go-to look would definitely be the casual-layered, but stylish look. I might have just made that up, but it’s a look. Now that it is getting chillier, I love the layered look. Leggings, tall socks, boots, sweaters, vests and scarves… that will definitely continue to be my go-to look for until summer rolls around again!

Which fashion trend are you currently loving? I am going to have to go with the leggings trend. This may not be new, but I will take advantage of this trend until it goes out of style (and maybe still after that). You can literally wear leggings hundreds of different ways. You can dress them up, wear them casually, or even wear them to workout. The possibilities are endless!

What inspired you to start your blog?  I have been passionate about fashion for years. I have always loved bargain shopping, and putting together random pieces in my closet to make them “me”. Friends and family would always casually tell me that I should start a blog and document how to style clothing that isn’t crazy expensive (since that is what a lot of bloggers do). I always laughed and said they were crazy, and then one day I finally did.

Name three beauty products you couldn’t live without: Chapstick, dry shampoo, and  perfume (in general). I don’t know about you gals, but I can’t even function when I have dry lips. I have chapstick in every purse I own, in my car, at work… just to make sure my lips don’t dry out. Nothing is better than soft lips. If you have used dry shampoo, I shouldn’t even have to explain why this is on my list. I recently cut bangs and I now am more grateful for it. Being the busy bee that I am, I don’t have time to fit in hair washing’s on a daily basis (and that isn’t good for your hair anyway). It is great to have a product around to save us seriously 30-45 minutes in the morning. I am a big smells person. I LOVE smells. I love putting perfume on and getting a whiff of it every time I move throughout the day. It’s a nice surprise and who doesn’t love smelling amazing?!

How would you describe your style? This is a hard question to answer. I wouldn’t say that one style fits me. When I wake up in the morning, sometimes I feel like dressing girly, sometimes I feel like dressing in black and going for the grunge punk look and sometimes I feel like being creative and putting together something random and unique. I have fun with my outfits and love that my style is never consistent. I think that is one thing that makes me unique.
